HOME PORTRAITS ABSTRACTS CONTACT SPACE MARCH WHAT'S NEW Working Towards Exhibition I have started putting together a series of paintings for my debut exhibition in Sydney. I am yet to set a date or decide on a venue as I'm focussing on the creative and technical aspects of producing these art ideas. Stylistically, these paintings follow on from the work I've done, as displayed on this site, but I am looking at variations on these techniques and how to extend them further. Commissions I have received a number of enquiries from people interested in me creating their own portrait. Yes, I'm open to this sort of commission type work. I do prefer to take my own photos of the subject rather than work from a supplied photo. The photography is an important part of the creative process and only very specific types of facial lighting work with this technique. Online Gallery Format I have reconfigured the online galleries (Portraits, Abstracts) on this site so as to display the artwork at a larger size. The difficulty with online galleries is that the nuance of a large scale painting is often lost when reproduced at a small size - kind of like the difference between seeing a painting in the gallery and then seeing the postcard in the bookshop! If you have a low screen resolution on your computer monitor, this will inevitably involve a bit of scolling.
