MOVING IN THE BLUE
Moving in the Blue occupies a unique sonic hue between the melancholic introspection of British Synthpop and the romantic, late-night atmosphere of French electronic music. Imagine Royal Blue (Depeche Mode, OMD, Pet Shop Boys) blended with Ultramarine (Jean-Michel Jarre, Kavinsky, Air) – creating a new shade of blue.
The song began with a percolating sequence from a rare 1970s semi-modular analogue synth, the Korg PS-3200. The sound evoked the feeling of moving through water, and from that, the melancholy lyrics about transition, uncertainty, and emotional immersion, naturally surfaced.
The result is a slow-burn synthpop ballad with emotional depth, a warm bass groove, and a sense of suspended motion — reflective and immersive.
Lyrics
VERSE 1
There’s no turning back
We’re out of time
As we climb this wall above
Covered in vines
Now I wrote this song
I can’t shake the feeling
Such a shame, I misunderstood
We’re not through, our heads touch the ceiling
Where do we go? What do we do?
VERSE 2
It’s our time for change
We’re out of here
As we wade through the water
So many years
Now I sometimes think we should be forgotten
I sometimes think, I never should
Immersed in blue, we rise from the bottom
Our lips meet the air, we know what to do
CHORUS
Moving in the blue
Moving in the blue
