Humans Want to Dance
And now for something completely different — a 125 BPM collision of nu-disco, synthpop and funk!
At its heart, “Humans Want to Dance” is a dance song about why humans dance.
The song moves through the physical rush of the dancefloor: attraction, sweat, lights, bodies, bass and drums locking into the pulse. Then it pulls back to observe humanity from a strangely detached, almost alien perspective — humans dancing in the void, coalescing with the noise, trying to connect, forget and become one.
Oh no, these humans want to dance!
Lyrics
Uh-oh, they want to
Uh-oh, they want to dance
How I long to be with you
All the way
When I feel like I’m lost
At the end of the day
When the bass (hey) and the drums
Match the pulse of your blood
And the colours and the shapes
Play games on your face
Humans want to dance
In the void
Coalesce with the noise
These humans want to dance
To be one
To forget what they’ve done
Humans want to dance
They want to dance
Humans want to dance
Now I taste the sweat
On my lips
In the heat of the night
Through a mirror of hips
Then I’m caught by a sign
Like a curving of time
In the space it creates
Your body and mind
Humans want to dance
In the void
Coalesce with the noise
These humans want to dance
To be one
To forget what they’ve done
Humans want to dance
To be linked
To connect what they think
These humans want to dance
To the sun
Kick it up with the drums
Humans want to dance
They want to dance
They want to dance
Dance, dance, dance, dance
Dance in the void
Coalesce with the noise
These humans want to dance
To be one
To forget what they’ve done
Humans want to dance
They want to dance
Oh no, these humans want to dance
Oh no, these humans want to dance
They want to dance, dance, dance, dance
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance…
They want to
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance…
They want to dance
