Hand Grenades
Pop with the pin pulled!
Hand Grenades is a genre-bending groove with band DNA, art-pop eccentricity, and a slightly menacing edge. Here I mutate synthpop with funk rhythms, acid 303 synths, rap, and guitar-driven rock.
It’s about how someone, near or dear, can drop a metaphorical hand grenade unleashing chaos and conflict. The lyrics move from a moment of quiet introspection to a rapid-fire litany of people and attitudes that can blow up your peaceful little world.

Lyrics
There are so many people
Moving ‘round with an inward gaze
All alone in a moment of quiet
Someone near drops a hand grenade
There’s panic at the station
There’s anger and frustration
All the villains and the no good
A riot in the bad hood
The sinner and the heathen
The militant believer
The shooter and the looter
The psychedelic future
Do you want to go there?
Do you even know where?
I fear this situation
Do you want to go there?
Do you even know where?
I fear this situation
There are so many people
And anyone can just come your way
They are here, they are just what you fear
Someone dear drops a hand grenade
There’s havoc and disorder
A principal transformer
The chauvinistic white men
Their manosphere and pig pen
The grifter and the vulture
Their narcissistic culture
The stupid and malignant
The chronically delinquent
Do you want to go there?
Do you even know where?
I fear this situation
Do you want to go there?
Do you even know where?
I fear this situation
Do you want to go there?
Do you even know where?
I fear this situation might explode
(Huh!)
It might explode
I fear this situation
The shooter and the looter
The psychedelic future
The stupid and malignant
The chronically delinquent
(Hand grenades)
Hand grenades
